Icarus is best known in Greek mythology for flying too close to the sun on his wings of wax. The wings melted and the young man fell to his death.
That's a really over-simplified version of the story, but it's late and I am just posting this before bed. This week's (and it will probably take quite a bit longer) project has been a drawing of Icarus. I'm not far enough along in the drawing to post it, but tonight I spent a few hours creating the title text that will appear in the corner of the drawing.
This title text was done with the guide provided in this tutorial.
It was a great tutorial and a lot of fun to play with. Thanks to the original artist!

Just to explain my 1st comment - when I see those scorching burning letters it makes me think of h-e-l-l which prompted the comment about it. (Just in case you were wondering.) :)

You are odd, but that's probably half the reason we get along. Like minds and all that. ^.~
Ooooo, that's nice, but scary, too. Hell is NEVER an option! (Hell is not being used as a curse word in these sentences... just so certain people will know.) ^.~

It's okay. Icarus is from ancient Greece. They didn't have a typical Hell, just an Underworld where all dead people (good or bad) were sent. The fire is supposed to signify the sun, which is what caused Icarus to plummet to his death. ^.^ Cheery, no?
