The holidays are a time for family, for friends, and for surrounding yourself with all the things in life that make you happiest. Most of these items are pretty self-explanatory, but the count-down calendars may need a few details added. These are basically cloth posters with sewn on pockets for each day of month…or, for the 1st through the 24th anyway. The pockets each contain a little piece of candy. Every night, a child (or adult) takes the candy out that day’s pocket, basically counting down to Christmas Eve night.

Older kids and adults can also create their own stockings by designing, cutting, and sewing without a pattern. Quilted stockings and character shaped stockings are easy to make, but don’t require a kit.
