This was designed for three or four main purposes. First and foremost was to create a background for my personal Twitter account (the one that has nothing to do with art or this site). Second, was to work on my own shading techniques. This is actually the first Photoshop drawing I've done that did not require a lineart outline over the image to define the areas. Third, was to attempt fur, something I have never worked on in the past. And, finally, fourth was simply for the challenge of doing a self-portrait, which I always find particularly difficult.
I think, all in all, it turned out rather well.
